For those without internet or telephone access, a livestream of the August 12, 2025 Public Meeting at 5:00 p.m. will be available in the Upper Room of the Port Hope Community Hub (5325 County Rd 10, Port Hope). Seating is limited and first-come, first-served, so we encourage the public to view from home when possible. This location is for viewing only and does not allow participation. To participate, please follow the instructions in Section 4.3. Comment forms will be available on-site for those wishing to submit written feedback.

 

The personal information contained in your correspondence to the Municipality is collected under the Municipal Act, 2001.  Any personal information you choose to disclose in your correspondence will become part of the public record.

 

Format of Public Meetings

This Public meeting will be chaired by Councillor Attridge and will proceed as follows:

  • The applicant or their representative will provide an overview of the application and policy framework review;
  • Municipal Staff will provide an overview of the technical review and public consultation;
  • Members of the public wishing to provide input may do so via written submission sent to [email protected] or by oral submission; and,
  • The Chair may call on the applicant and/or staff to provide clarification on matters raised by members of the public.

The Office of the Clerk captures all feedback received during a public meeting in minutes to provide a written record for Staff and Council of the public meeting.

Council for the Municipality of Port Hope will consider an application for a Zoning By-law amendment (ZB03-2025) and Draft Plan of Subdivision (SU01-2025) under Section 34 and 51 of the Planning Act submitted by 13750701 Canada Inc. on behalf of Candevcon Group Inc. for lands municipally known as 4646 County Road 2.


The subject lands are designed 'Hamlet' in the Official Plan and zoned Future Development ‘FD’ within Zoning By-law 20/2010, as otherwise amended.


The rezoning has been requested to facilitate the development of a thirteen (13) lot plan of subdivision, consisting of twelve (12) new single detached dwellings, in addition to the existing single (1) detached dwelling on the subject property. The development is proposed to be serviced through Municipal water and private wastewater systems.


The purpose of the rezoning application is to rezone the subject lands from 'FD' Zone to Site Specific Hamlet Residential 'RESV1(158)' Zone to facilitate the construction of the proposed residential plan of subdivision.
