The Public Meeting is being held to present and obtain public input on the municipality’s proposed development charges (D.C.) bylaw and underlying background study. All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting of Council and any person who attends the meeting may make representations relating to the proposed D.C. by-law and background study.

In order that sufficient information is made available to the public, the background study was made available online at the municipality’s website (Development Charges | My Port Hope) on May 10, 2024.

Note that there is an Addendum to the Development Charges Study which identifies updates relating to the Province's Bill 185, which included changes to the Development Charges Act.  For ease of reference an "Amended" file has been created which consolidates the changes identified in the Addendum with the original Development Charges Study.

Copies of the proposed D.C. by-law and the background study are also available from the municipal Clerk at the above location (905-885-4544).

All interested parties who wish to make oral submissions this evening will be required to state your name and address for the record.

Mayor Hankivsky will read the Land Acknowledgement.

The public meeting of Council is being held under section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended.

The purpose of the meeting is to give the public an opportunity to ask questions, provide comments, and make representations on the May 10, 2024 Development Charges Background Study and proposed by-law, as amended.

Council will not be taking any action this evening on the proposed by-law.
